Eve Hormone Balance Test

  • Register your test kit before posting your sample to our lab (see your "Registration Guide" card inside your test kit).
  • Freeze your sample and post it to our lab as soon as possible - this ensures your sample reaches us in a viable state. But make sure you don't leave it in the freezer for longer than one week in order to prevent degradation.
  • To ensure the integrity of your sample, please post it to us from Monday - Wednesday.

Collection dates

  • For men, and women who are not menstruating (who are postmenopausal or are experiencing amenorrhea) please take the sample on any day.
  • For menstruating, premenopausal women with a 28-day cycle*, please take the sample on days 18-20.
  • If your cycle* is over 28 days, please add the amount of days your cycle usually falls short of 28 days to the collection date range. For example, if you have a 31-day cycle, your cycle is 3 days longer, therefore your collection dates are 3 days later (days 21-23).
  • If your cycle* is under 28 days, please subtract the amount of days your cycle falls short of 28 days to the collection date range. For example, if you have a 26-day cycle, your cycle is 2 days shorter, therefore your collection dates are 2 days earlier (days 16-18).

*The first day of your menstrual cycle is considered to be the first day of heavy menstrual flow. Even if you have days of spotting before your heavy flow, we consider the first day of your cycle to be the first day of your heavy flow.

Packaging Your Sample

Eve Stress & Adrenal Test

  • Register your test kit before posting your sample to our lab (see your "Registration Guide" card inside your test kit).
  • Post your samples to our lab as soon as possible - this ensures that they reach us in a viable state - be aware that over time your sample may degrade. We recommend posting your samples to us within 7 days of having collected.

Collection times

  • Plan to collect your sample on any ‘normal’ day. We recommend a work day (if you work) rather than the weekend. Avoid collecting while you are unwell, travelling, or implementing any new diets or exercise routines.
  • Schedule a collection day when you know you’ll be able to make the collection times. I.e. not a meeting-filled day.
  • The day before collecting, schedule reminders to ensure your samples are collected at the appropriate times.
  • Place your ‘upon waking’ and ‘overnight’ collection swabs and vials next to your bed for easy collection.
  • Please do not drink alcohol the night before, or the day of, collection.

Eating & Drinking

  • Please wait at least one hour after eating a meal before collecting saliva, and 10 minutes after drinking water.
  • After eating, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water to remove any food or drink residue, and ensure you wait a full ten minutes after rinsing, before collecting the saliva sample.

If you are unsure when would be best to collect your sample, please contact us on 0800 FOR EVE (0800 367 383) or at info@evehealth.com.

This sample can be collected either the night before, or the night after, the other 4 samples.

How to Collect Your Samples:

  • Peel back the protective package and remove the SalivaBio Oral Swab. Avoid handing the swab with your hands.
  • Pick up the swab using your teeth to place directly into your mouth, under your tongue.
  • Keep the swab under your tongue for 2 minutes. Rolling the swab under you tongue helps ensure enough of your saliva is collected on the swab for the best possible analysis.
  • While the swab is in your mouth, remove the lid from the tube.
  • Catching the swab lightly between your front teeth, gently pop the swab from your mouth directly into the vial. Avoid handling the swab with your hands.
  • Recap the tube tightly.
  • Fill out your details on the sample label and check the correct collection time is selected.
  • Apply the sticker right away to ensure accuracy and place the vial in your supplied biohazard bag. The sticker should be placed as indicated above, below the dotted line.
  • Repeat these collection instructions for your remaining samples.
  • Once done, remove any additional air and seal your biohazard bag.
  • Write your own address on the back of the courier bag under ‘return address’. Fill in the compulsory Safety Assurance Form and place into the pre-paid courier bag along with the biohazard bag.
